That's tough, but probably for the best. Long-distance relationships while in college have just about zero chance of being healthy.

VeggieFrog was in PSU and Neosenate was in Leeds Uni (UK) while in college.

moved in together a year ago, and are engaged to be married.

There is no "congrats" to this. It's not a good thing. Amazing that people think it should be done because there is very little change of it succeeding. Sometimes they do succeed. And besides, it's barely long distance, 55 miles is all.

Like I said, it won't stay this way. Neither of us want it. Just thought we "should" so it doesn't influence her own college decision-making. But in fact, abruptly ending something this great to both of us is certainly no way to ensure she makes an unbiased college decision. If I play a factor in which college she decides to attend, well, that makes sense, because I also play a factor in her life.
