List of demands from the SMU Association of Black Students:

1. SMU will hold students and student organizations accountable for racially insensitive conduct.

2. Black student enrollment must increase until it is at least 10 percent of the general undergraduate student population.

3. A cultural intelligence program for all incoming first-year students must be mandatory.

4. Sensitivity training for all faculty and staff, including tenured professors, must be mandatory.

5. No less than one-third of the Personal Responsibility and Wellness course curriculum must be dedicated to cultural education.

6. All students considering initiation into any Greek letter organization must go through mandatory cultural intelligence and sensitivity training in order to be eligible.

7. Black professors must increase until at least 10 percent of the faculty is black, at all levels professorship.

8. SMU will purpose financial resources towards expansion of the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs into a multicultural center.

9. SMU will increase the amount of black and minority administrators, including the members of the Board of Trustees.

10. SMU will hire a chief officer of diversity and inclusion.

How do you get to the "must" 10% level of students and professors? Lower the standard? SMU is a private school, not public so it will not be as easy to bully around.

Requirement training for all incoming freshmen? All faculty and staff? Really?

I feel bad for recruiters who try really really hard to increase employee diversity. This is a difficult problem that has no easy fix.

They make the demand of 10% only because they know it won't be met, couldn't possibly be met with a stroke of the pen, therefore the demand will become a perpetual grievance.

Hilarious. SMU is a private school with deep ties into the Dallas business community, mediocre academics, a long history of cheating at sports, racism and virtually no black students who aren't on a sports scholarship. This will go exactly nowhere.

For those unfamiliar with the pull of the school, they bought several skyscrapers located along Dallas North Central Expressway when GWB was looking to build a library. They bought one on the east side, and one on the west side so that they'd have more choices. They demolished the one on the west side and built the library. The one on the east side is now used for administrative staff.

I grew up in the city that SMU is in, have tons of friends that went to school there, and know plenty that work\teach there now. SJW types would have a fit at the "privilege" there.
