Mel Gibson is just a drunk. Probably had something to drink right before the interview.

Tom Cruise is just nuts to turn around his career. when you've been in hollywood for 20+ years you gotta do something to keep the spotlight on you.

 
he's not crazy, just a racist/ bigot, who got drunk and expressed his true views on things. now he's sober, he's doing tworried he's destroyed his career. It's better to be seen as "crazy" than a racist pig in Hollywood, perhaps. Also, it's amazing what makeup and hair can do - he actually looks almost normal interview.
 
Nah, I don't think he's a real racist/bigot. I think what happened was that he was angry when drunk and spouting off the most offensive things he could say at the time. I think that people who say that he secretly hates jews,etfc are reading too much into his drunken tirade.

I also don't think he's nuts or lying, he's just nervous about having to talk about the dumbass thing he did.

Both are religious nuts that takes their beliefs WAY to strong. So yea they have more in common then people think.

I agree, I doubt he really believes any of that.

I have to say that I hate the smug self-righteousness that newscasters seem to exude whenever they're interviewing someone about their screwups. "And then you said _____. Would you say these were....offensive words?" Well no sh!t. Everyone knows that, but they have to go and make the guy beat himself over the head with it, as if the newscaster had never said an offensive word in their life.
 
And that's why I refuse to watch the news. Do I honestly give two #2's about Mel Gibson, what he said, his personal beliefs, or what he had for dinner that night? No. Does he care about what I say, do and believe in? Probably not.

Confessionals are made to be private, not to be broadcast for public consumption and disection. The Catholics got something right at least....

Yep. :thumbsup: I know I'd be wetting myself if I had to talk about a world wide screwup I did on national TV.
 
Listen to Mel Gibson's dad being interviewed a few years back. Howard Stern played it on his show, Id say around five years ago. His dad is very anti-semetic, and Howard claimed at the time that Mel Gibson was known to share the same beliefs. For me, it came as no suprise to hear Mel Gibsons comments a couple months back.
