Crossfire technology works slightly better than SLI and many will have to admit it. You can do scissor mode or AFR. It was built as an AFR grounds up technology in fact. Furthermore, the implementation of it on graphics cards makes it a slightly easier to scale than SLI (which involves bridges).
While ATI has a good development on the table... who cares if it will never hit the market? =)
So for now I will be content with my 7800GT, and until ATI kicks my butt around with a real launch, I won't be crying.

While I completely agree that crossfire has many bonuses over SLI... if the 1600x1200@60hz being a limitation has any truth to it, most people will be quite dissapointed. Esp in a market where larger wide screen monitors are picking up share.
