Yes, it may be true in some scenarios, but i dont think that MOST people own XL and GT cards.

Oh, I'm sure most don't. But technically, if most people don't own x800pros or x800xts, then most people can't get a matched master card.
Not a very useful statement, but what do you expect from the marketing department?

Yeah, they both spread BS about the other. I was at a CrossFire demo a while back, and the ATI rep was going about how SLI had to have games coded specifically for it, which isn't true in the least bit. For what it's worth, the NV rep with the SLI setup wasn't there at that time, so I don't know what kind of BS he was slinging.

Ok, let's talk about the truth...

NV has it right that there is no SM3.0, but when R520 comes out that will change. Then again when will R520 come out =P.

Crossfire technology works slightly better than SLI and many will have to admit it. You can do scissor mode or AFR. It was built as an AFR grounds up technology in fact. Furthermore, the implementation of it on graphics cards makes it a slightly easier to scale than SLI (which involves bridges).

While ATI has a good development on the table... who cares if it will never hit the market? =)

So for now I will be content with my 7800GT, and until ATI kicks my butt around with a real launch, I won't be crying.

While I completely agree that crossfire has many bonuses over SLI... if the 1600x1200@60hz being a limitation has any truth to it, most people will be quite dissapointed. Esp in a market where larger wide screen monitors are picking up share.

Well yes if that rumor has a truth to it, then that will be a sever blow, but so far I think Crossfire is a nice solution.. just release it please =P.

I also want to see that DFI Xfire board and the new NF4 board =(
