I snapped off a few quick pics with the remaining batteries in my cannon while it lasted. Everyone can now see what I am putting in my sausage next week.

**** Second update, and a sad one ****

A girl I have being friends with benefits and kinda seeing off and on for the past couple of years calls me up last night. She wants me to "come over" and I tell her I can't because my cat had kittens. She gets all excited and says she's coming over right now instead. I tell her, "NO!" but 20 minutes later she is knocking on my door. I knew at that point I shouldn't let her in, but I can't be rude like that. So I let her in and she wants to see the kittens. I show her the box with the newborns and she goes "Wow that one is cute!" and reaches right in and picks up despite me saying, "what the f*ck are you doing?!?!"
"Don't be so anal retentive" is what she replies and states she grew up with cats having litters. I tried to tell her she got her scent now all over the kitten and I wasn't sure how the mother would react. But she shrugs it off saying I'm being over protective and worse than a mother cat.

Fast forward a bit, so she um... stays the night with me and heads out this morning. I get up shower, dress, and make breakfast before checking up on the kittens. The three she ended touching the mother killed them in the night. Pretty much knew it was going to happen too.

Unfortunately, I'm got a bit angry and call up the stupid b*tch to tell her what happen. That because of scent the mother killed those kittens. I ended up making her cry. Now that I've calmed down a bit I feel like a real a-hole all over. Still sad at the dead kittens, pissed at myself for letting the whole thing happen because I knew it would, and more so at rubbing it in a girls face I know goes into bouts of depression. Yay, what a way to start a day.

I know the joke in my topic description may not be funny to you. You may have found it even a little bit offensive. However it still remains that if you did then you, me, and everyone else on anandtech knows you are a tight a$$ anyhow

With that out of the way, m cat is having kittens :|

Not sure to be happy or sad because now I have to take care of kittens with me just being laid off and having surgery on Monday. How did this happen? Well it's not originally my cat as mine ran away and someone tried to "claim" my reward by giving me this cat that was preggers. But since it was a really sweet cat and already trained I kept it. Too bad I couldn't find a place where I live that would spay it before the kittens were born. Trust me I tried.

Anyhow, that's why I'm up at this hour, what's your story?

Eff no. I basically asked how stupid they could be to confuse a 15 year old, spayed, declawed, pure silver Maincoon with a year old Calico with claws and preggers. So they abandoned it on my door step and left.

I ended up with 5 kittens that I see. Luckily I was able to coax the mom into a box I prepared for her instead of having her try to hide under some furniture and make a real mess to clean up.

After a month or so, feed a thimble-full of mercury to each kitten. It'll stunt their growth and they'll be cute forever! Cute or dead. FOREVER!

Make sure you get a heating pad set on low setting for them to sit on. They can't keep body heat in for the first week or so. If the mom leaves for any reason they freeze.

Well I made chilli for breakfast this morning.

Too bad it was from a can.


Anyhow, the only clinic on my side of houston that takes animals is Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) and they don't do surgeries. They said they would euthanize a pregnant cat turned in. They gave me a list to call of all the available clinics that would spay. Most wouldn't spay a pregnant cat and out of the few that would only one was anywhere near me. It was about a 40 minute drive, the rest are a couple hours or more depending on traffic. All of them but one had a 2 month signup sheet. The one that didn't was the one nearby and it was a first come first serve on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. They only put out 20ish clipboards and if you aren't one of the first twenty you have to come back another day. So, to answer sandmanwake question, I was not able to spay this cat yet because of all the screwed up hassle here for clinic

Let me find some batteries for my camera and I'll snap a picture I guess if you guys want to see what the menu looks like.
