And I was wondering why my temperature has been high...

... and why my computer has been acting up. What I did not notice was that my computer has been a little quieter lately as well. Then I went to check my temperature in BIOS and holy cow! My fan wasn't on! :Q Somehow the connector died on me causing the fan not to spin. My heatsink was BURNING, it was extremely hot, but that's a good thing showing that it performs well. The temperature was 59C. Now it's plugged into another connector and all is fine. Interesting experience, but I'm glad that I invested in a good heatsink otherwise my CPU would have been toast. So watch out when your computer gets quiet and starts acting weird at the same time 😉

Something similar happened to me. All of a sudden the Hardware Monitor started reporting temps around 150-176 F on the cpu and I put that aside, thinking that the HSF/cpu was only 6 months old. I opened it up a week or so later and found out that 2 of the fans were not spinning at all and I dont know if it was because the motors crapped out or because a lot of grime built up inside the fan casing. I tried to clean as much as I could but the two fans still did not spin and the third one was spinning at like 200 RPM. I invested in a GlobalWin VOS32 and while its keeping my cpu cooler than the stock HSF, the case temp went up like 10-15 degress because the thing is massive. Im thinking about rounded cables or some intake/exhaust fans
