...looks like my entire depart isn't working fridays next month. No pay. We can use vacation time, but do a search on my nick and you'll see why I have virtually none. Looks like another month short.

Anyone in the Sacramento area need an electronics tech?

that sucks. get a part time job as something you really enjoy, or want to try.

or deal w/ it and have fridays off, that would be cool to me :)

Fridays off==20% less money==20% less for bills==something doesn't get paid.

Edit: Since the last shut down, I've built up 9 hours. So I MIGHT be able to make up 2 of the 4 days but the chances for making a trip to E3 this year (I might've been able to score a pass) are GONE. They just went from slim to fat f~ing chance.

It sucks. My advice is plan according to such eventualities so that if you get hit with a 50% paycut like I did last year (sorted out now mostly) you are able to get buy as best as possible.

Excellent advice. Living like that is the only thing that has saved my ass this past year and a half. Not only did I get a 50% pay cut, but I also got a 50% hourly cut. Tried to find another job, but in this area there just aren't any.

A 50% pay cut would put me $2 over minimum wage for a job requiring a bachelors degree. And it's only been 3 weeks since there was a two week company shut down. Upper management wanted to lower the working days to two days a week except the VPs said "you might as well lay everyone off". Because if they did do that, everyone worth keeping would be gone before the month ended.

This all is happening because someone screwed up big time with some financial records and put us one step from bankruptcy, if the head were based in the US, it would be in bankruptcy. Supposedly it should all be cleared up in a month once the process with the courts gets settled unless we get bought out first.

It gets worse but I don't want to end up talking with lawyers.
