Intel lining up 11 Penryn 45nm processors for new notebook platforms

Intel plans to launch five 45nm notebook processors (Penryn) to go along with its Santa Rosa Refresh platform in the first quarter of 2008. These will be followed by another six for Montevina in the second quarter, according to sources at motherboard makers ... In an update to previous reports, Penryn processors will account for 53% of Intel's total notebook CPU shipments in the second quarter of 2008, ...

That's a pretty diverse lineup, after my last AMD notebook (Turion X2), Intel would be my only choice for a mobile unit, unless something drastic changes. AMD's notebook cpus aren't exactly horrible, but they're notably weaker than even the current Intel offerings, to say nothing of what's coming soon.
