Hi all

I have this class Ancient North American Archaeology, I have to write a paper that has to be not more than 20 pages, I want a topic thats specific enough but has enough material available to make 10-15 pages worth of material. Anyone an anthropology major or the like that can help me out? thanks.

Something along the lines of speculation about what happened to the cliff dwellers of Mesa Verde?

Or, there are also cliff dwellings in Arizona - can't think of the name, but it's part of a park about halfway between Phoenix and Flagstaff. Similar situation - evidences of a reasonable sized, active and growing community and then they just disappeared.

Edit: Found it - Montezuma's Castle, Arizona

Or, try searching on the Anastazi <sp?> peoples.

Everybody writes about Pueblo folks.

Woodland traditions are really interesting.
Also Mississippian (think Cahokia).

I'm taking a N.American Archaeology class right now and we just talked about Woodland for a few weeks. I bet you'd find enough stuff about it.

Arctic stuff is cool. But there aren't too many sites actually. If you're lucky enough to find materials this would be realy interesting though.
