Hi,

I'm a big fan of Anandtech's articles and am really looking forward to his review of the 2011 iMac. I'm relatively new here, and wondering if anyone might have any idea whatsoever when it might be coming?

Cheers

We wouldn't know.:( You'd have to ask Anand directly, he's the only person that could tell you.

do you want to buy it?

the low end model is so so value. the $2000 is cheaper than similar dell/hp. same as the MBP

You can probably use Twitter to ask him. If the feed on the Anandtech homepage is any indication, he's pretty forthcoming with information.

What do you mean the $2000 is cheaper than similar dell/hp? All in ones or in general?

if you configure a dell/hp with the same CPU/RAM/similar GPU/ super IPS monitor/windows 7 ulitmate/added on software, etc like a Mac it's the same price or more.

the $1199 iMac is only saved by it's monitor as far as $$$ for specs

Agree with the others; the 27" iMac's are a good value when you consider specs, form factor, included software, and MOST OF ALL the 27" IPS display.

my 2009 mac pro seems to be just as powerful and with the 2010 mac pro bios flash hack you can move up to different chips and ram now. snagged it for a hella deal slightly used. love it with the 30" monitor. you know how easy it is to slide in 4 ssd's? imac is cool but man i'm scared of upgrading it

Maybe upgrading an iMac is not for the faint of heart, but it can be done pretty easily. I upgraded 2 iMac 24" systems with an SSD, replaced a harddisk in 1 iMac 24" and upgraded my iMac 2011 27" with a Vertex 3 MI SSD on the day I bought it. I'm more than happy I did it :D
