Anandtech's Power supply article

I posted a question on here a week ago asking if an Antec true 330 watt ps would be ok for a p4 2.8c with one gig of ram and a 9800 pro video card. The consensus was that this power supply would run everything just fine. Now I read this article and it says that the true 330 just does not have the muscle to push p4 processors or a high end video card. Anyone out here running a 2.8c or greater cpu and a 9800 pro video card with a 330 power supply or less? Is this article assuming the user will be overclocking?

Theres a lot of factors that go into this, how many fans are in the PC, how many optical drives, how many hard drives, whether you plan to overclock, how many PCI devices etc...

An Antec 330w has adjustible pots for increasing the rails if it is too weak to push the hardware as well. You might wanna look into that.

A truepower PSU is very high quality, and may be able to push that kind of system with no mods at all, especially with one CDrom, one HD, and no PCI cards (assuming you use integrated LAN/sound).

so if i'm going to be using a nic and an audigy2 i'm going to need a bigger ps? Oh well, looks like i'm headed back to newegg. thanks for the info.
