Anandtech Thread Sorter

I am surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but this tool makes AT worth using again. I just wanted to thank the authors for their work on this project.

Something I would like to point out to the Fusetalk developers. If Fusetalk had a sort by topic post date, I would be seeing a whole lot more of your ads. I also would be curious to see how much of your traffic is referred by the thread sorter.

Thanks again for the great tool!

Anubis: the thread sorter sorts by the original topic's post date. AT sorts by most recent replied-to thread by default.

Sorting by original post date is very useful in FS/T and HD, although personally I prefer it in all of the categories. It makes the site consistent. The conversations I am interested in move down the list through time in a predictable way and it makes it easier to see new threads as they are posted. The whole "reply-bump" system randomizes the listed order of threads and new threads that maybe only a few people are interested in get washed out in the noise. AT used to have the option to sort this way, but it was lost in the last "upgrade." In any event I hope to see this feature back in the next version of the site.

There is a link to a "lightweight" version on their main page. It might be a bit faster.

Finally, it's back up. I had almost started feeling an AT Forums withdrawal since the .NET upgrade. Anyway, the Hot Deals forum is much more manageable now with proper sorting.

I wonder if they realize how taxing that is on the servers? Pretty rude if you ask me. If I was Zuni I'd block it.

Hm nevermind -- at least I think -- they're just checking the thread id in the url, and sorting on that.

One might say it was even more rude to remove a feature crucial to one's use of the site. It was kind of like Huffy came in the middle of the night and upgraded my bike by removing the front tire. Anyway thanks for the new link cyberia!
