AnandTech takes the lead. :)

Brilliant - TA now has the lead in what.....RC5, OGR24, OGR25, Gamma Flux and is making a noise in SETI. 😀😀😀😀

Brilliant I say, Brilliant.😀

I say congrats to all the TA teams!!!! Or should I say to the TEAM! 😀😀😀

Whooooooooooooooooooooo!

😀

WOOOOOOHHOOOOOOMOOOOOOO!!!!

It looks like I need to eat my words posted Saturday that it would take until Tuesday to pass the Slash.

Joe O must have been saving up to get the Ruler Counter of the Day and power us into #1!

Way to go everybody!

Viz,

If you have to eat some words, that's a mighty tasty bunch to chow down on.😀

congratulations ogr-ers and to all TeAm members! were there a lot of new recruits in ogr because of the front page article? i know there sure were for seti and rc5...

WHOOOOOOMOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Way to go TeAm! 😎😎😎😎😎

TA is number one!

With love and respect your fellow TA member

WooooooMooooo!! I knew we could do it if we just gave a little more of a push to OGR! 😀

Now... assuming we can keep enough counting going to maintain #1, a few folks that moved over to OGR just to help secure this spot can start gently and slowly moving some power back to RC5 to hold off the DPC's. 🙂 Let's just not all run back to RC5 in a mad rush or we'll be begging for more help in a few days all over again! 😉

Congrats TeAm OGR!!!!!! 🙂

Now all we need to do is gain top spot in S@H and we will truely be #1 in the world!!!!! Although that could take some time, but we seem to be making a big impact on it of late with the article on Anand's main site. If any of the other teams feel they can spare a few for S@H to help us in our quest for a higher placing, you know it would be appreciated! 😉

Congrats again TeAm 🙂

That's what I fear as well, many of the people who have graciously moved some power over to OGR moving back to the other projects, so we loose too much output.

Perhaps we can retain the K6 CPUs on the OGR project where they are most efficient 😉, and attract some of the SETI people to use OGR as a backup if they can't get SETI work work to do. In fact, I think that I'll set up one or more of my Celermines up to do SETI in blank-screen screen saver mode, with OGR running in the background during use. I've been dying to see how that 850 and 935 Celermines do at SETI, and I would like to see how this this dual project scenario actually works out on machines that otherwise get heavy use.

The_One -
Yes, I agree that it would be wonderfull to get TA into that #1 SETI spot. What do you think of that dual project idea? I can see where we can increase the overall TeAm efficiency if the SETI machines that use SS mode did a Dnet (RC5 or OGR) project while in active use, and work on SETI when not in use. Also, wouldn't that machine work on Dnet during those occasions when it could not connect to the SETI server, also putting otherwise lost CPU cycles to good use?

I don't mean to put a dampner on things ,but many SETI people use a WU storing program ,so its very rare for those to run out of WU's.

BTW I should think that dualing the 2 projects should work fine 🙂 + you get stats for BOTH projects 😉

A1-

Yup, I know that many of the big SETI crunchers use SETIQue etc, but I want to give this idea a go to see how it works. I hate to recommend something without first hand knowledge, so this seems to be the way I can get some.

I'll still have over 5 ghz working on OGR full time though.

OGR has been a nice refreshment to RC5. Now instead of jockeying around at rank 350 in RC5, I'm shooting upwards in OGR. 🙂 If Viztech didn't point me at rechecking the Linux clients, I would have never of found the 464d Linux client which blows away the Windows client. 😉 A Celeron 450MHz which did 2.9 Mn/s in 462 (or 2.4 Mn/s in 463), instead does 3.6 Mn/s in 464d! WOW! :Q So, if any of you OGR participants runs Linux boxes, BE SURE to use the 464d client!

I'm going to continue running OGR on my high end machines for now and depending how some of my mid-range machines handle OGR, I might add a few more.

Edit: I need to stop hitting the reply button too quickly... Congrats Team AnandTech OGR on our move back into first place in OGR25! WoooooMooooo!

Brad..
