We need drivers, we had between 6 and 10 drivers for the Super GT 300 races. I would like for us to have at least 10-12 in each race. If anyone knows someone that may be interested in racing, ask them to drop by the thread and post or send me a pm.

Rules: We will not have a huge list of rules, most of our drivers are mature, clean, racers who just want to have some fun. We do expect clean racing, so respect your fellow drivers.
  1. The cars will be run "stock", this means no modifications that increase HP or reduce weight. The chassis stiffening mod is legal if you want to use it.
  2. You may run any tire of your choice.
  3. Pit stops are optional.
  4. Any complaints or protests against another driver should be done via PM. DO NOT post problems with another drivers in the thread. If you feel there was a problem during the race you have two options; PM the other party and get their side of the story, or PM me with what happend and I'll review the replay. It is highly recommended to save a replay of the race, if you feel you had an issue with someone, review the replay before you take any action; many times a percieved incident will look entirely different when you see it on the replay.
  5. The only driving aids allowed will be ABS, Traction Control, and driving line for those who choose to use it.
  6. We will run with damage set to "light", no penalties, and edge of track traction loss set to "real".

Ok guys.... here we go 🙂

Post your car choices sometime this week so I can get them in the first thread. Lets see if we can recruit some more drivers before the first race starts

If anyone has any suggestions, comments, or just something you want to see different, post it up or send me a pm. 🙂

Haha love the pic...makes me look good. Too bad it didn't stay like that lol. 🙂

Is traction control (not ASM or anything like that) allowed?

I have no problem with anyone wanting to use traction control. I don't like using it myself, I feel it slows the car down. I'll change the first post to TC is allowed. 🙂

I'm driving the Honda RAYBRIG NSX (SUPER GT) ‘06.

I'll be leaving the country next week so I might miss rounds 2 & 3.

I'm having a very hard time getting my car to stick on this track :\ I may end up going back to the car I ran last week; I never realized there would be such a difference between the various GT-Rs.

I'm going to be in my lounge tonight at around 9pm if anyone wants to come in for some practice.

Try increasing the ride height a bit (if you haven't already). I found at Laguna Seca it makes a big difference because of the large and quick elevation changes. I was running it at "0" when we were driving around the other day and the car behaved much better than when I was running it at "-2".

I'll give it a try, there are a couple of other things I want to try before I give up on it. The strange thing is, I set this car up using the exact settings I used on the other identical GT-R and they handle completely differently. I figured all the GT-Rs would be pretty much the same.

I think my GT-R is at -7F -4R.. I have a bit too much mid-corner/corner-exit oversteer that I'm trying to dial out. I haven't driven any other GT-R besides the Xanavi, but I would have figured they'd be all pretty similar too.

You drove with those settings at Laguna Seca?

That was Cape Ring. Last I drove on Laguna, it was actually even lower.. -9/-7 iirc.

I do know I had some corner-exit oversteer issues in a few turns (2, 9, 10) that I need to work out on Laguna. I'll try raising the car and see what happens.

Wow damn that is really low. Is the car unstable over kerbs?

Even in all the GT300 races I never used lower than -2...and most of the time it was at 0.

Maybe I should try going lower as well...see how it turns out at Seca.

Not really.. There was one kerb on Cape Ring that was giving me trouble, but I don't know if that was due to ride height.

I may have found my problem; I was setting up the car the same way I did with the GT300 car. The problem is, with the GT300 car it was the front end I was trying to get to stick, with the GT500 car, it's just the opposite. I softend up the rear of the car more relative to the front and it made a huge improvement.... just need to tweak it a little now :sneaky:

I'm going to be in my lounge practicing tonight, starting in about 30min if anyone wants to join in. If you aren't on my friends list, send me a request.

Success  Finally got my car to stick... now at least it's drivable.🙂

I had a good practice session last night with a new driver that I invited to join our series. I believe he will be running with us this weekend. 🙂

Welcome aboard  It won't take you long to get up to speed. If your son or any of your friends would be interested in racing with us, just tell them to drop by. 🙂

Jcox said he would have more time to join GT500...davinciload I'm not sure.

I went down a lot on the ride height and softened up the suspension and it seems to be doing okay.
