Hi guys, hclarkjr you're email never got to me so not sure where you sent that one...

I believe an official announcement is coming soon regarding subscription services, which will announce the discontinuation of the service. Existing subscribers will still have access to the subscriber servers until their subscription is up.

I don't know any further details on that.

Cheers.

So the subscriber service is GONE, that's why you cannot subscribe or re-new your subscription.

Not exactly. From the sticky at top:

We had a short outage. It is fixed, now. If you registered a new temporary account we have not yet found, please let us know so we can delete it.

Thanks.

So the question still remains.....

So the question still remains.....

The subscriber server was down. Meaning that subcscribers couldn't get on the board AT ALL.

So some created NEW names so they could browse and post on the other servers.

This actually had nothing to do with the renewal or getting a subsciber account. subscribers couldn't log on.

So there for the question is answered.

My subscription ended today...:-( I PM'd Zuni, and asked him whyno one was returning my emails about my account and getting me the info I need about renewing the subscription... here is what he said to me today:

Hiya, read the post in forum issues.. about where is anandtech tech support its all explained there. Basically the service is no more

This is gonna suck... I paid for my subscription thinking I was gonna get a whole lot more than I did... I settled for what they gave me... and now, I gotta look at ads! Blah!!

Obviously, we aren't on the need to know list. Sounds snobby to me. Even the responses, like "it's in that thread".. I mean duh... these guys sound like rebateshq. Instead of saying I haven't got a clue, which they don't, they point to a thread that only hints at an answer. What a bunch of baloney. Remind me not to buy anything from any web stores opened up by this crew.
