The OCZ Octane Review (512GB)

Posted two days ago, but I didn't see it until today.

SPOILER
The Indilinx Everest is a surprisingly competent controller... the OCZ Octane is easily able to hold its own against SandForce based drives.

yeah. i read that review a couple days ago. they seem to agree, with some more work on the firmware, it has a lot of potential.

Hopefully it won't brick itself after less than a year? Man, I can't believe some of the old reports of OCZ SSDs killing themselves. I'd argue that the hard drive is the most important component in a system because it stores your data. If my computer were to set on fire and I could only save one thing, it would be the hard drive. Everything else is replaceable. I'm honestly scared to buy OCZ. Someone please assure me I'm wrong.

well ocz bad rep mostly comes from their SF based drives. these new drives they have no excuse if they start freaking out and bsod'ing. since it's all in house now and all..
