anandtech reccomendsMushkin PC3500 Level One (CAS2) RAM, do you agree?

It was recommended because most all of these chips can be taken to 200 fsb...many of them higher. Buying a good stick of pc3500 gives you plenty of room for your memory to match those fsb speeds with good timings. A good set of pc3200 will do just fine Im sure, but they also recommended this ram to save you some money a little down the road so you wont have to upgrade as soon.
The Mushkin level 1 PC3500 is pretty good stuff. I picked my 512MB stick for $99 at newegg a while back. Runs 230 with 2-3-3-6 timings error free in memtest. Not as good as the Mushkin level 2 or other BH-5 based ram, but I think they are an excellent performing ram for the money.

my cheaper ddr 400 Geil gold series ram runs at 225fsb fine 🙂

yeah but can you run 225 fsb with 2-2-2-6 timings?

yeah i payed over 400 bucks for a gig of this stuff when i got it
it don't like to run too much over 220
but it loves low latencies which really helps in many apps and makes up for a few mhz lower clock when compared to some other memories out there
if you want low latency memory that new kingmax stuff looks like it might be a little better cause it gives you the best of both worlds (high clocks with loose latencies, low clocks with tight latencies)
if you just want mhz and don't care about the latencies then i would suggest something with the new hynix chips

Mine's not stable at stock specs :| 2-3-3-11 @ 217 on 2.6 volts failed Prime 95 after 8 minutes... same settings but on 2.7 volts failed after 4 minutes... 2.8 volts failed immediately.
Currently running Prime 95 at 2-3-3-11 @ 210 x 11.5... going on about an hour now... if it's stable, I'm gonna try 2.5-3-3-7 @ 230 x 10.5 and see if that's stable... if it is, then I'll compare benchmarks and see which provides better performance.
