anandtech newegg article pic

I live really close to newegg, and had delivered stuff to there before(my company sells stuff to newegg to resell).
Newegg's warehouse is almost right next door to fedex sort facility. They don't need a huge semi truck to bring all the stuff there.

LOL, that's awesome, they can just cart the stuff over.

What I don't understand is that the article says that newegg thinks UPS ground is superior to Fedex ground which is definately not true.

I hope there was not a misunderstanding; Newegg does not state that UPS ground is better than Fedex ground. We feel that both UPS and Fedex are excellent companies and great partners. Just like with products, Newegg tries to be a nuetral open platform to offer choices to customers. Some customers may like Intel, some may like AMD. Some prefer UPS, and some prefer Fedex. What UPS, Intel, Fedex or AMD charges Newegg directly affects the prices passed on to the customer. So the better price Newegg gets, the better it is for the customer. In the case of Fedex, we have enjoyed a wonderful relationship for many years and will continue to do so for many years to come. But Newegg had to react to a change in Fedex prices and therefore wanted to offer another solution that would keep the costs down as low as possible for our customers. Hence we now offer UPS in addition to Fedex.

I hope that clears up things a bit.

i dont know if you can officially say anything, or if there actually is a difference, but in terms of efficiency, i have heard by quiet a few companies that UPS is more efficient than FedEx.

You should be aware that 70% of my most recent $2k computer purchase went to ZipZoomFly instead of Newegg simply because of their "Free" FedEx 2-Day Shipping. I have now received two shipments from Newegg via UPS that were late. Until newegg makes FedEx their default shipping company, I will no longer champion newegg as I once did.

Please read the responses here and realize that UPS was a BAD move on your part. Also realize that many of us here, myself included, play large IT roles within our respective companies and/or communities. A lot of people buy or don't buy based on my recommendation.

But thank you for observing these forums. Now I hope you translate what you read here into corrective action. Your company is doing a great job. Would be a shame to see you continue to stumble at the finish line (of the client fulfillment process).

Yes, and as the saying goes, "The customer is always right!" Perhaps newegg doesn't agree with us?

If newegg hasn't done it already, how about a FedEx vs. UPS poll on the front page of their web site?

Yes, you can choose FedEx but it's significantly more expensive than what ZipZoomFly offers on most of its items.
