Anandtech needs to have some sort of point rewarding system

how about we start a point system, rather than a post count system...

that way, we can aware other members points for quality posts. that would cut down on neffing to up post counts too

Sadly the maturity level doesn't actually support that sort of system. I can give you an iron-clad guarantee that the system would be sufficiently abused to the point of rendering it worthless.
 
I hate the forums that have those "reputation" point system... all these idiots farm point for posting silly humors, sexy-almost-nude girl pics, forming group to give points to each other.. just plain dumb...
just like other have said.. if you want to reward the person who helped you.. paypal it jigga...

Youn remember correctly, we did have a rating system.

It didn't work and was dumped some time ago.
 
For such a system to work, point awarding would have to be peer-reviewed by some "reputable", volunteer members, who woud check the reason given and the corresponding thread link. That could work, because people would not simply press a button, and abusers would be caught pretty quickly. Let's start a poll.

That seems more workable, but still not perfect due to potential favoritism.
 
I think the current system works fine. I can always find helpful people here to answer my question.

BTW, anyone on here is always welcome to PM me for a "song" thread. I love the challeges. Wherever you heard it, movie/commercial, etc. I rock at those threads.
