And yes, we have a 2.8GHz Prescott processor, I received it last week at Computex...

I think they have one. The review page said 2.8 GHz Intel Prescott, I see no reason for Anand or Evan (who confirmed they had a Prescott) to lie about this.

So when is it going to be tested??
Also ...is it true that it contains the 64 bit instruction set from the Athlon 64 through licensing?

Yes, they have a 2.8 Prescott. Anand told me about it a couple of weeks ago.

Be wary, it might just be an OC'd Northwood designed to give "ballpark figures" of a 2.8GHz Prescott in an upcoming Prescott preview.

He still can't get over the fact that our A64 preview from last month predicted A64/FX performance almost perfectly. Read here for a laugh, page 3 specifically.

I thought this comment by a Beyond3D forum member to be pretty funny in regards to Anand's XT article:

So he's benchmarking unreleased hardware (NV38) with unreleased drivers (52.xx) on an unreleased cpu (Prescott). And who knows when any of those will be released. Nice tandem.

Ok, I stayed out of that last thread, but I have to disagree with "predicted A64/FX performance almost perfectly"...

In the Final Words of the A64 preview, Wesley stated However, in some of the very latest DX9 benchmarks, Athlon64/Opteron was 40% to 50% faster."... Presuming he meant that it was "40%-50%" faster than a P4-3.2c, which benchmarks is he talking about? Please correct me if I am wrong, but I don't recall any where there is that much of a lead.

Interesting how one CPU can "almost perfectly" predict the performance of 2 CPU's when compared to the P4 3.2, the A64 was on average 5% faster in games and the FX was on average 20% faster. Most people wouldn't consider an average 15% difference as a trivial amount and certainly not almost perfect.

Summary

A nice job of Nostradumus predicting though. Trying to make the evidence fit the prediction after the fact.

Gunmetal. But then, they didn't bother to use Gunmetal for the actual review, and other sites which did use Gunmetal, such as Tom's, show a much smaller difference.
