1) Ever notice it seems that the vast majority didn't even bother to skim the details? The requirements are always in a different color for crying out loud!
Better for us though
2) Speaking of which, instead of: "What I'm looking for here is an understanding of what your current system configuration is, why the [product] matters you and how you'd use it."
Shouldn't it be "why the [product] matters to you..."?
3) And what I really want to discuss is what seems to be a lack of winners. Since the beginning of 2013 there have been 15 articles for giveaways. Only one article has since been updated to show the winners. That was late Sep 2013. I also did a not-so-thorough scan through 2012 and only found 1 more winner.
A) Have you read the About page? It's awesome. Not to mention pretty much all the reviews on Anandtech are invaluable. So I want to give 'em the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they're just super busy and posting winners isn't on their priority list?
B) Or if I read into what's been printed on the About page as well as what has NOT been printed in the giveaway rules, perhaps these giveaways are some sort of way to boost website rankings? I don't have anything against that. So in the rules the winner has 3 days to report back to the site with name, address, birthdate, and username. Failure to do so is disqualification. Well what happens after that? The rules don't say unfortunately, so I'm thinking the loophole is they then don't try to select another winner and then keep it or sell it elsewhere, who knows. I won't even be mad if this turns out to be the case; just bummed a bit. Other entities publish what they do if the selected winner is disqualified. It would be nice if Anandtech did the same.
What thoughts have you had?
