I normally just type "forums.anandtech.com" and am redirected as a subscriber, but for the past hour or so I get a tcp/ip error. I can use subcriber.anandtech.com and it works fine. Anyone else having problems? I mean, obviously it isn't a huge deal if you are a subscriber, but it may be effecting those who don't purchase a subscription.

The strange thing is that on top of how many users are logged in...it just says like 88 members logged in.

I can't load forums.anandtech.com either, but the subscriber forum is working perfectly for me.

I was having problems this morning. Logging onto forums, forums2, and forums3 were all very, very slow. So I said, "screw this." And subscribed. Wow is all I can say. I'm stuck on a dial-up and everything loads, serious, like 10 times faster now.

I am dial up and it is worth every penny to be a subscriber and not have to load all the ads and be on the faster server. Besides, if you use a product and enjoy it, why not pay for their service?

When I first subscribed I was on dial-up (I have since moved to an apt with cable), & even when I was at home on dial-up the difference was remarkable. The biggest difference was simply responsiveness.

A couple of weird things happened...

First, Athanasius contacted me saying that he thought he had been banned because when he tried to post or send an IM, he got a error message saying:

You have been forbidden to post/reply or edit a message in these forums.

I PMed the moderator, who said that Athanasius's account was fine.

Then, fifteen minutes later, the AnandTech mainpage went offline.

Ten minutes after that, the non-subscriber forums went offline.

I'm thinking that they must all be related.

One thing is for sure, for anyone who thought that the subscribers just had a different NIC on the same server, I'd say this situation blows a hole in that theory!

Yeah I'm a non-subsciber and I can't get it. I'm only able to post this under forums1. The normal formus.anandtech is down and I can't get in at all.
