I am creating a forum in JSP. I love the anandtech forum. Is it possible to obtain an empty DB, design templates and some specs of this forum?

I intend to use mySQL for DB, but I am open to suggestions.

as Fuse Talk is a commercial product I dought that Zuni (the co-author with Wrath who doesn't visit here from what I understand) will I am fairly sure not give it away. however you're more then welcome to visit their company website www.e-zonemedia.com and buy a copy of it 🙂.

I am currently researching a couple of forum solutions for our company. The Fuse Talk solution is written in ColdFusion and you can by an open source version of this, so that you can alter the code, costs 369 dollars. It seems to be a very comprehensive package coming with an SDK which could be useful.

If you are looking to use MySQL, something Fuse Talk does NOT support, you may wish to look at a couple of cheaper options which run PHP/MySQL, both seem very comprehensive with a large support hacking community.

Try these links.

Actually fusetalk fully supports mysql and is more powerful than both of the options listed. We also have an SDK with full access to the major API components, we have a mailing list addon that fully integrates with mailing lists, a support addon to do electronic support through the forums, and a NNTP solution coming soon that integrates with NNTP servers as well, something neither of the competitors you listed do 🙂.

We also support Oracle, MSSQL, Access. PostgreSQL is in the works along with Informix and Sybase for the future.
