Welcome to the CPUs and Overclocking forum. There have been some updates to the Moderation and Guidelines for AnandTech forums which can be found in Personal Forum Issues in this thread. Please read these important guideline changes.

One of the major changes is in how moderation will be done going forward. Moderators have a title listing the forums they moderate. They are able to moderate in other forums, but are encouraged to do so only in extreme and obvious cases of a violation or when a thread needs to be moved. Moderators are expected to remain in good standing with the community and uphold all of our member and posting guidelines.

Senior Moderators, who will also be noted by title, have jurisdiction over all forums. In addition to normal moderation, Senior Moderators are responsible for making decisions concerning permanent bans, advising moderators on actions, reviewing member complaints about moderator activity, and generally making sure moderation at AnandTech is run fairly and efficiently.

In addition to the Senior Moderators, The moderators for the CPUs and Overclocking forum are apoppin & keysplayer2003. These moderators were nominated and voted upon by the Senior Moderators and Administrators and have accepted the position. We welcome them to the team, and hope you will too. Congrats are in order :)

Please note: These, and all other moderators should not be contacted directly for moderation issues. Those should go to the Moderator account though Private Messages, or posted in Personal Forum Issues.

Congrats.

I haven't seen much threads at all that needed moderation, but the place can hardly get any worse with 2 new appointed mods ;)

Thanks! Yeah, the CPU forum has calmed down quite a bit. It was in uproar just prior to the C2D launch and kind of dwindled down thereafter. It's a nice place to be. Video on the other hand really needs full time mods as flamewars can erupt in a heartbeat over absolutely nothing. Especially when new hardware is released. That will be squelched.

So here is to a better AT experience!! We'll all work on it.

No offence, but I would have liked people who were a bit more knowledgeable about CPU's as Mods.

Duvie would have been my choice.

Completely unbiased and on the ball with the latest tech.

Still, any moderation to keep out trolls like Dothan and Fatty is a good thing.

Duvie, Thugsrook ... several others i can think of ... they are excellent choices and members more knowledgeable then i about CPUs ... my real "specialty" is graphics. However, i DO hang out here a lot and 'keep up' ... i have been here in CPU and especially interested in OC'ing since my first day on ATF forums and i can keep up with the best of you guys ... i am just not an extreme OC'er by choice. i am pretty satisfied with my $114 e4300 at 3150Mhz at stock voltage and haven't felt any need to go higher. It is an excellent match for my 2900xt ... perhaps when i Crossfire them i will try for more.

At ANY rate, one does not need to be "knowledgeable" about CPUs to moderate this forum. Most of a mod duties are quite mundane. They consist of moving inappropriately posted thread, locking or merging duplicates ... and very occasionally warning or discipling a member that "goes too far". i am not really expecting these later problems until closer to Baarcelona's launch.

In the meantime, you guys can also take responsibility to moderate OUR forum ... if you see something out of place, please let us know.

one thing to remember, there is room for more mods ... you will be able to recommend and vote for them in the tech forums ... stay tuned
