AnandTech Community Update 10/25/08

Hi guys,

As part of an effort to bring together the readers of the main AnandTech site and the forums, I'm going to be doing a weekly community update where I take interesting threads from around the forum (mostly technical forums for now, but will expand to social forums in the future) and link them in a blog post on the main site.

I'm also going to post a link in here, as some of you OT lurkers don't get out much ;-)

Hopefully some of these links will be interesting enough to inspire a little more branching out not only from readers of the AnandTech main page, but from you guys as well. Who knows, it might be fun

wasn't expecting to see my name on there heh. I like this idea though, as I often find discussion in the forums a bit more in-depth and engaging than the main AT articles.

I think this is a good idea, especially with site-specific topics like the "state of anandtech" in GH. I contributed to the thread after reading the community update, so I guess it served its purpose. I like somethingawful's Forum Friday's Monday, something similar for the forums here (including the social forums) should be great

Thanks guys, I'm glad this is at least marginally interesting

I absolutely will include OT threads in future updates. In fact, I expect some of those to be the most interesting.

Right now, we're just getting it off the ground and still addressing format research and everything

I've asked our elected forum mods to help out in picking threads for this purpose, as they know their forums better than I do and are more on top of what is of interest there.

Next week's update will likely be longer and more in depth and I will try to get a few topics from each of the social forums as well (if I can anyway).
