There's no need for Star Wars / Transformers / X-Men toy writers, so I'm not needed this year. 😛

Seriously, a few years ago when they were looking for writers, I considered submitting a resume/application, but I ultimately decided not to do so. And then the last couple of years with product availability, shortages, and the prices that components like CPUs and GPUs go for, I've pretty much lost 90% of my interest in tech.

$2,700 for a GPU that's always out of stock, or $500+ for an used 8-year old GPU? 😉

I am morbidly curious what Anandtech pays for those reviews. I'd imagine that it's not much, but it might be worth it if you get to sell the GPU's for scalper prices after the review is finished 🙂

That would be a pretty easy job for GPU market.
"AMD released their new 7489 today, and have implemented their new policy of using the price as the model number."

I travelled into the future to write this article late next year:

Welcome to the year in review 2022. The big hardware news so far this year has been:

1. Nvidia launches the RTX 5000 series, beginning with the RTX 5050 3GB edition for $999, all the way up to the RTX 5090 at $3,999. Availability has been spotty at best, with Ebay being the only way to buy one of those cards, albeit at $2000 and $8,000 respectively.

2. AMD still hasn't been able to produce enough Ryzen 5600, 5900, or 5950 CPUs to be available at any retailer. They are hoping that supply constraints will ease by 2025, so be prepared not to see any steady Vermeer inventory until that time.

3. Intel launched their 13th generation CPUs, increasing the TDP to 300w and they now can use up to 700w in certain scenarios such as gaming. Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger also believes 10nm will be ready to go in late 2024 or early 2025.
