Anandtech Bench

I like how the charts include the sparta and lima semprons. I've never been able to find a review of those processors.

Same deal with the Atom. Websites never talk about how fast those are.

I think it'd be helpful to have at least one Netburst chip in the list (such as Pentium D 9x0) as a reference. There are lots of people with P4's and P-D's.

And I'd like a couple more benchmarks that measure purely single-threaded performance which will give better indication to folks who are interested in that regard.

Also it'd be helpful if there are brief notes on platform where a CPU was tested. This may or may not make a big difference but it is still a relevant factor.

But all in all, I like it alot and the data seems fairly accurate.

Yeh, I don't think an Athlon 64 processor is necessary since they already have Semprons listed. I would like to see a P4 as well as an Athlon XP just for reference.

I would add the Pentium III to the list as a reference as well. It would be nice to see how far performance has really come since the Pentium II and III days.

Tom's Hardware did better than that. Their 2004 chart goes all the way back to the Pentium 2!

Xvid encoding times
3GHz Pentium 4E - 179 seconds
233MHz Pentium MMX - 3558 seconds

They also have WinRAR on a Pentium 100, takes about 15x as long as the Pentium 4 and Athlon 64.

As far as notes on each platform, there's a little icon next to each one and if you hold your mouse over it it gives you exactly that!
