The single-core counterpart (3200+ Venice) can do 2.6 no sweat. I'm disappointed. Plus it's more than likely that the first batch of review chips will be cherry-picked.

single core counterparts dont get NEARLY as hot, these suckers run HAWT when both cores are loaded even at relatively low voltage
Yes, Intel is NOT stupid. They realize that if they DON'T make sweeping changes, their line will STOP selling like hotcakes. They have about 12 months more before they can be a real contender, per a statement from their own CEO.(lost track, could be less)Originally posted by: redhatlinux
I really like the article but I would not be quite so critical of Intel. The simple FACT is that Intel can sell just about everything that they produce, and a few Uber Customers (Dell hint hint) have a major influence in what Intel does. I am, and always have been, a supporter of AMD. They are far more creative with their designs and manufacturing technology. If you were in the position that Intel is in today, would you REALLY make sweeping changes to a product that sells like hot cakes ??
