Hopefully, the oc potential will increase as time goes by (not too long though). Amdmb got their 2200+ up to 2.16 ghz, with air cooling, so there is hope. Apparently they got a better sample. I'd like to know the compatibility with older socket A mobos.

I am going to wait until the Opteron CPUs come out before I think about upgrading.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but This CPU should fit in any Socket A Mobo, as long as the BIOs supports it? (Which of course, can be modified by a simple BIOs update)

I'd also like to state, I'm impressed by the Clock Frequency Rating of AMD to Intels CPU.

Espically in the Unreal Performance Test.

About 730 MHZ between the two cpus, yet AMD is .3 FPS behind.

Impressive none the less.

Yes. Most motherboards should be able to support Vcore levels as low as 1.5v with nothing more than a BIOS update, if not supported already...

They're really getting every last bit out of that architecture ... gotta say I'm a little dissapointed with the OC potential as well .. no worries, not planning on an upgrade anyways.

like someone mentioned earlier. if you want overclocking feature, go with Intel 1.6a/1.8A.

If you want stock speeds, then go with AMD..

Nuff Said!!
