Late late in '09, Anand wrote a wonderful piece...

...that in essence described the innards of a Dell Zino HD.

I bought one and like it.

Am I right in surmising that this Toshiba 11.6" netbook...

Toshiba Satellite T115D-S1125

Product Features

  • 1.5GHz AMD Athlon NeoX2 L325 Processor
  • 2GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM Memory
  • 320GB Serial ATA Hard Disk Drive (5400RPM); 802.11b/g wireless LAN
  • 11.6" LED (16:9) 1366x768 Display; ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics
  • Window 7 Home Premium 64-bit
...am I right in surmising that this Toshiba is a netbook version of the Zino HD?

I would like to buy a couple of these for home use and wonder about battery life, fan noise and heat in a thin, netbook-style enclosure...and also wonder about the upcoming Ion 2-based netbook, in terms of the same questions (battery life, fan noise and heat).

Any and all advice is appreciated from one of the very best resources on the web...

It does look similar in specs, but things like battery life, fan noise, and heat are going to be hard to tell since the zino hd is not a netbook. I'm not aware of another netbook using the Neo processor.

rated charge, 9 hours?

i think it has the battery life down.

i dont know what the single threaded/multi-threaded processor performance is on the neo, but the graphics chipset is vastly better than intel's offerings.

i cant see anything "bad" about this laptop. well, except the battery bulge...

I think my netbook is rated for 9 hours and lasts about 5 or 6 just web browsing, less if I'm playing mp3's and such.
