I'll probably regret asking this but who are Harvey and Russ and why is it important that Anand didn't mention them?

They manage the forums and have been here a long time.

I don't blame you for not knowing, the titles here are stupid with a bunch of administrators and overlords and super moderators and whatnot.

i remember anand was a high school kid in the heydays of the desktop pc, now he looks like bin ladens bald brother. his post was a little unsettling, out of the blue he decides to disappear, i hope he doesnt do something crazy like pull a robin williams. does he own the site 100%, youd think hed wanna stay involved just to look out for his financial interests. i hope hes not terminally ill, and this is just the lure of hookers and blow. i can sort of understand this, technology, esp desktop stuff, has sucked for a while now, ive pretty much lost all interest, and only come here for ot

I think retiring is the wrong word. He's reinventing his career to try something else and spend more time with family, etc. He's gonna to work is ass off in one capacity or another for at least 3-4 more decades I bet.

Thanks for starting this site, Anand. Found it (and the General Hardware Forum) to research my first build. Then I stumbled into the glory days of OT back around 99/Y2K. Never thought I'd hang around so long!

thx for the memories, it's been my fav site and forum for the last 15+ years. Was actually a member and then they had to redo the database back in the late 90s?
 
Fairwell Anand! Wishing you great times in whatever you do next. Maybe pop in once and a while? 😉 This site has been a huge thing for me in the past two or so years, it really started my love of tech. I'm hoping to go into a hardware field eventually, but who knows? I'm only 15. 😛
