Almost makes ya want to dig up all the posts from the tools who argued that 75% gains was unrealistic bullshat and rub their noses in it

Did Anand actually test SLI performance, or just play with an SLI system and confirm NV's numbers?

Where did the numbers in the chart come from?

While nVidia was not ready to ship nForce4 SLI reference boards for review, they were demonstrating a major manufacturer's nF4 SLI board with a pair of nVidia 6800 Ultra video cards at 1600x1200 resolution at 4x AA. We also got to play with the SLI system with an Athlon 64 4000+ CPU, confirming benchmarks that were supplied by nVidia.

C'Mon, These are SLI benchmarks !!! This thread should be hoppin !!!

As was stated they are the Nv ones and that basically makes it a repost :) Anywho, I expect the gains to hold up and in some situations improve with newer forcewares, unless they are jerking us around like they did with the PVP

As you can see, the performance increases are nothing short of amazing. We did get the opportunity to play DOOM3 with a SLI GeForce 6800Ultra setup. We had no issues playing at 1600x1200 with 4XAA enabled while staying at solid gameable framerates. If the action got really heavy in-game we saw frame rates drop to the mid-40s, but for the most part they stayed pegged at 60 frame per second.

Hmm...boards are due in mid-November...

The benchmarks show 6800 models being SLI'd. You know how impossible it is to find 6800s with PCIe?

There is still a very, very, very small pcie market out there right now. The tide however is about to make a massive turn.

its awesome news for midrange - get a $200 6600GT now and then get a 6600GT later and get the highest % out of SLI too. But yeah, if it was easy to do - a PCI-e 6800GT now and throw in one later...
