I heard that rumor too.. but not sure if that is true or not.

The last match he lost teh final round to some unkonwn guy.. Vishu anand was the best thing to happen to india. The guy is brilliant. I have met him once or twice before in person. The guy went to "Vidya Mandir" High School in Madras.

I think if you mention "Anand" anywhere else but here, more people would think of Vishy Anand

btw, many of the current tourmanets are played with "rapid" (25 minute + 10 second inc) clock and quick elimination. These factors make the results much less predictable. The 'classic' (2 hour for 40 moves + time control) tourmanents, such as Linares, are much more indicative of a master's true skills.
