Anand can you please install KILLER NICS in the forum servers?

A couple months ago I submitted a couple temporary fixes for some large security holes. One of which was a filter that would str replace src with ******. The point of this was to filter malicious strings. However, some later fixes I suggested would make that quite redundant, and it also interferes with regular usage. There's no point in having it anymore, and you might as well remove it (since it's easy). I've suggested other things, as well, which you'll have to ask the site administrator for (if he/she kept the PM's).

Would be nice to fix up a couple annoyances, and it'll only take 30 seconds for the basics.

Hi,

I only administrate the servers and network, I do not administrate the applications, database, or do the coding. These requests would best be directed to the site administrator as you mentioned. :)

Is the site administrator the same thing as FuseTalk?

So would administrating the applications, database, or doing the coding constitue being able to add different "buttons" or smiley's and the like?

Could you provide the usernames / forum handles / e-mails for some of those people?

Since you're answering questions already, I might as well throw a question as well ;)

Whatever happened to Jason?
Haven't seen him around in a long time, and he's no longer listed on FT's site.

Jason's still around, but he's backed off some from his role(s) to focus more on the more important things in life. :)

Catfight!

Hrm...maybe I should be quiet in the presence of both mods and admins...

Ooo, this should be interesting.

This may be a mis-understanding of who controls what w/ respect to the forums.

The old Jason used to do a lot of tweaking (good/bad) for the community.
How much power was vested in the Mods beyond user control is unknown.

You would think that with all the requests and feedbacks that have been provided, that the Mods would have attempted to accomindate if they had the capability.

They may be only empowered to control the users, not the site.

For the "AnandTech Moderator" account and most who use it, it's generally only forum/user access. From my talks with the Head Admin (Site Admin?) even he only has limited access.
