Question Analyzing M.2 SSD Question

Hey guys!

So, I just bought a Samsung 970 EVO 1TB and wish to make this my new boot drive. I'm currently using Windows 10 and a Crucial MX500 500GB M.2 as my main drive. The Samsung is supposed to be like 7x faster according to specs so I figured it would be a better for Windows and some games. I'm trying to clean out the Crucial before I clone it but I'm experiencing discrepancies in the numbers. When I go into settings-system-storage , it says I have 308 GB in "Apps and Games". But I'm only seeing about 160 GB in large files. I also noticed when I go into settings-apps, I noticed a game that I uninstalled a long time ago that is still showing up which says it's taking up about 20GB of space. When I try to uninstall it, I get an error message unable to locate file.

Can anyone please tell me a good way to analyze hard drive to find the larger files?

WinDirStat is a pretty good tool for seeing what's taking up space.

The stuff in the Windows Settings app isn't actually inspecting the filesystem, for the most part. It's just showing you an accounting of what it expects to find on the filesystem, but as you've discovered, it doesn't always know about programs that have been deleted.

As a general rule, you shouldn't rely on any Microsoft tool to tell you the truth about what's on your disk. You need to use third party tools that aren't actively trying to lie to you.
