an35n ultra (realtek ALC650 audio)

howdy. i just recently did an upgrade - used the Shuttle AN35N Ultra board and a barton 2500+ cpu. it's a nice system thus far. very solid, with nice performance.

anyweay - about the audio component. it's a realtek ALC650 onboard deal with the spdif header (which i will be buying an expansion plate for). i understand this isn't the soundstorm component, but it seems to have nice quality.

i have one hangup tho - is there no audio component utility, for setting speaker settings, and enabling/disabling the spdif output..? i loved the sstray deal that went with the soundstorm component on my old board.

i've checked Shuttle's, Realtek's, and nvidia's website and couldn't seem to find anything.

any recommendations?

There is a control panel for the ALC650... it's in the drivers, which you can download from the Realtek website. The control panel offers basic control over SPDIF, speakers and equalizer. It is listed in the control panel as "Sound Effect Manager"

Cheers

excellent. i tried the latest release drivers and it didn't have the control panel, but the beta drivers they have on the site has it and it works fine.

you have my gratitude.
