I decided to go to Mwave, today, and get one of these Shuttle AN35N Ultras before they raised the price, and guess what, they now have raised this board from $53 to $70 as well. I guess I waited just a bit too long to decide.

It looks like Shuttle decided that this was just too popular to leave at the lower price.

Any other suggestions for a good inexpensive Mobo in lieu of this board?

The Chaintech 7NJL3 turns up at $59 on Pricewatch, but I don't remember hearing anything about this board. The AN35N is still your next cheapest alternative.

On a side note: What is VIA thinking? KT600 boards are still way too expensive.

Good find, although FuturepowerPC only has 3 reviews they are all perfect and that price is shipped so I'd take a chance on them and go for it. In my experience if someone likes a busniess they will tel a couple people and if they hate it they will tell 15 or 20, so there would be a negative eval if they had one I should think.

They did the same thing with the MN31N, they introduced it at a ridiculously low price then after the promotional, which does breed a lot of free advertisement for them ;) they jack it up to competitive pricing on parity or slightly better than most other manufacturers.
