Well, 2 nights ago i came home from work to find my apartment door kicked in..what was missing? My new PS3, my Wii, around 50 games, my laptop, my new iomega 1TB external hard drive and my camera around $300...so in all i lost like $2000 worth of electronics...great...now what do i do...

No renters insurance like a dumbass but my lease is up the second week of July so i figured why do i need it?...THAT bit me in the ass..

So my question to you all...i'm only gonna buy one system this time...i loved my Wii and my PS3..but im not going to buy both again...so should i get another slim? or buy a wii? or even an xbox? Of course i'm leaning towards a PS3 again just because i believe its the best out of the three, but i'd like to hear your comments and suggestions...which is the better value, price wise, game (both present and future) wise, feature wise, fun wise, etc...

I'm asking because thinking about a PS3 puts a sour taste in my mouth, so I'm open to Xbox suggestions..as well as Wii...Let's hear'em..Thanks!
 
Eerie... My friend got robbed two nights ago. She lives in a smaller town though, and I tracked down all of her shit and got it back, AND found the identity of the thieves. If I weren't a pussy I'd probably enact some vigilante justice 😛

Anyway, if you have the serial numbers then check the local game stores. Pawn shops have to report serials, so that's done for you, but small game stores like Game Nut, Game Guy, etc. don't have to. I don't think Gamestop has to either.

I'm just saying don't give up 😛
 
i own a ps3 and 360 and have owned a wii before and sold it (but am getting another one because of DKC), and if i could ONLY have one it would be xbox 360 no questions asked.

main reason i'd pick that is because the majority of my gaming is done online and 360 has the best online services available for consoles.

if i didn't care about online at all i'd probably go for ps3 because personally i like the ps3 single player exclusives a lot more than the 360 ones.
 
I agree with purbeast. I like more of the PS3 exclusives, but not as much as I like how must faster and stable Live is. Personally I prefer the 360 controller as well, so for shooters and such I'd only go with the 360. Plus with the new 360 out, you get the added bonus of having a 250gig included hard drive and wifi that most 360 owners don't have.

FYI, for the future: renters insurance is not tied to one location. When you move you just notify your agent.

On top of that all insurance is pro-rated. You may pay for a year at a time, but if you cancel with even 3 days left they will send you a check for that amount back.
 
As mentioned if you play alot of games online the 360 is the way to go. If you do more single player and BR then go PS3. Our Wii just collected dust until I sold it.
 
Check the local craigslist for similar items being sold...be very careful if you go to check the items out.
 
Are there still games on the PS3 that you want to play or were you caught up? If not, then the Xbox might be a good choice to open up a new library. I think you should compare game libraries and see which one offers more games that you want to play, current and future.
 
Maaaan..i'd put together a damn decent collection..tons of FPS, FFXIII, Afro Samurai, RDR, and i had gret progress on all of them...now i dont even want to buy any of these again...so i'm gonna start my collection over :-(

I agree with him as well. I wouldn't pay the ongoing fee for Live, because I don't play online enough to warrant it. However, it's nice to have free online play on the PS3 on the rare occasion that I do play online.

The PS3 exclusives plus the BD player put the PS3 out in front by a lot for me. I can easily see Live and not needing a BD player making me lean towards the XBOX 360 though.

Any news update? Since the alleged thieves are you "next door" neighbors, I would have expected an update by now.

Don't they have windows you can peek through?
Don't you have a hot-headed friend, who for the cost of a 12 pack, will bust down their door when they are away?
 
Hahaha...Well i moved away and decided to let it go...Karma will catch up to them, that i'm sure of...if it hasnt already (seeing as how they are drug dealers and need to rob people to survive). More people did get robbed in my complex though which means i'm sure it's them..and yes i've had a few hot-headed friends tell me they're willing to get revenge for me, but like i said. I'm letting it go...
