An Overclocking Danger

I just finished formatting my harddrive. I had to because recently I had been overclocking my FSB incrimentally. At 160MHz I ran into the problem of the harddrive writing bad sectors. It trashed my system files. I just wanted to let you guys know this is a pretty big inconvenience. Overclocking does have it's dangers. Keep your FSB at 150- (Without PCI dividers). At least with my configurations, 150MHz has always been stable without overworking the PCI bus.

The typical wisdom is to avoid 40MHz+ PCI bus speeds, ideally staying at or below 37.5MHz PCI bus.

Or of course if you have the time and resources just hand test the hardware prior to purchasing to ensure that it can handle a heavily overclocked PCI bus. That's what I do 🙂

I've been thinking of cooling expansion cards with flourinert...
