We went to this store known for selling mod chips for game systems and modded game systems (also known for selling broken modded systems and not giving refunds) because it is the only place around that we could get an ignition psX ddr dance mat (these ones have hard foam inserts).

Anyways, inside the store there are all these dirt bikes and motorcycle tools on display and i question the guy about being in the right place. Then when he went back to get the dance mat I noticed that there was an open phonebook on the counter turned to the lawyers page!

As we were leaving there was a guy -wearing a trench coat- taking pictures of the building!

hahaha so funny!

i hope they don't get busted before i can go back to get another dance pad. :p

I'm pretty sure pads can be bought on ebay pretty easily. And also you can buy a cheaper soft pad and turn it into a hard pad with some wood+industrial plstic wrap and a staple gun

yeah, we were looking around the internet and are considering the plywood mod but after shipping and exchange its just sooooo much cheaper to get it locally. Not to mention the horror stories I heard of companies just shipping out the wrong mat to people and not exchanging and stuff.

And you bought from them?!

yeah. They didnt mod this or anything so we figured it would be safe. they dont do refunds on modded systems because they refuse to refund anything that has been soldered for some reason.

But they modded the systems themselves?

I know, that is the strange thing!

I'm sure lots of people have bought from them without incident (they have a website they do 95% of their business from) but I have heard of at least one complaint of them not modding a system properly and then refusing to take it back.

FYI, most of the eBay ones are knockoffs of the originals. Unless they say Red Octane Ignition, they're knockoffs.

damm, I've been meaning to get them for my gf ... but I'm so tempted to get some knock offs from ebay. Are these worth it?

mine is a knockoff and it is working fine so far. there is a website called ddr freak that has reviews of the dance pads and how to mod them and stuff.
