Heh, I just Stumbled upon this: Air Hockey Over a Distance

It's somehwhat interesting, but stupid (IMO). Obviously the guys needed to be pretty smart to build the thing, but they should skipped this project and thought of something better to spend their time on. First of all, I doubt it works too well. Second, does anyone really want to play air hockey with someone far away so badly? I guess the focus is to play with a stranger from a distance, which doesn't sound too fun for me. I hardly like playing it in person with people i know. Also, the thing has to cost a ton. It's not the most practical invention I've seen. I guess it's one of those inventions people make just for the hell of it.

Very cool technical project... but I agree, it is pretty much useless.

does it sense how fast you hit it, what if you barely tap it across, will the sensors fire one off at full speed? interesting idea, but less valuable than worthless
