An interesting bit of history I was unaware of.. (I just saw "The Others)

I never knew that Germany occupied British soil during W.W.II.
After watching "The Others" tonight I did a bit of research.

BTW: The movie "The Others" was very good! I just wish I hadn't watched Saturday Night Live this week! The skit about spoilers was a spoiler!

Interesting. I almost rented The Others today... might pick it up for sure next time.

Another interesting thing about WWII was the submarine battles off the east coast of the USA. Germans got some U-Boats over there.

Also did you know that Japan was sending balloons over to the Pacific Northwest trying to start forest fires?

My ex girlfriend and I rented a old fire tower down in southern Oregon several years ago and there was a plaque in the woods stating that this was a place where one such fire was started.

Also I'm sure you were aware that Japan occupied the Aleutian Islands in Alaska.

Yep, the Others is awesome , And yep, Germans occupied the Channel Islands. In fact, the Germans stayed there 'till the end of the war. Allied never bothered to invade the island, and the Germans had nowhere to go. So the islands kinda turned in to huge prison-camps for the occupying german troops.
