So I just read the "Better in life" thread by douchebag #9786786786876, aka knowledgeisme. For some reason, it annoyed the hell out of me to know this loser created an account, served up one post, and will never use it again.
Thus, here is my contribution to solving this problem, though it seems rather tedious to put into place.
Anytime a new account is created, each post must be verified to check if it's just for sh!ts and giggles or if it's really legit. Maybe we could have a forum specifically for these introductory posts, where lifers are enabled to review the posts of new accounts and determine whether they are valid or not.
Once a post has been approved, it is transferred to it's appropriate thread. Let's say I start an account, and post in thread "I like beer". My post will not show up until it's approved. A new account would require at minimum 100 posts approved. Once the minimum has been reached, any further posts by that account will appear right away in the thread, like it does right now.
I give lifers the say because, well they've sat on their butts the longest so they've got the best chance at being able to decipher/recognize the crap from the genuine interest.
There's a lot of flaws with this idea, but I think the general concept might be able to work given a few tweaks here and there. What do you guys think?
