I have noticed that the kt3 ultra motherboard specification (here) lists the via KT333 chipset can run up to 266mhz FSB. further down the page they list the front side bus at 100/133 mhz (supported). is there a difference between the two and what is it?

sorry for the newbie question, but my search just confused me even more.

The answer is simple:

due to the dual nature of the FSB, 266 is really 133. 200 is really 100.

This just makes it easier for people used to the older bus speeds from the Super7 and P2/3 era.

The 100 (200) fsb is for older Tbird/duron cpu's.
