maybe, but have you seen middle eastern school books? its not exageration when one says the region is full of hatred and nazi like propaganda. anti semetic racist school books are fed to children from day one. nothing good can be said of that. we only these modern nazi's get away with this because they have oil, rather sad.
here's just a little.
1. The Jew is the dangerous enemy
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In both educational systems, the students learn that the Jew is a dangerous enemy: the enemy of believers, Islam and the Arabs. The Jews have loathsome characteristics: they are deceitful, treacherous, and are presented as a force of evil in the world. The Jew's national movement, Zionism, constitutes a danger to Arabic existence.
"Zionism is considered the most dangerous movement in its hostility to Pan-Arab Nationalism. It aspires to liquidate the Arabic existence and to implant the Jews of the world in Palestine through the help of colonialism."
[Nationalist (Pan-Arab) Socialist Education for Grade 10, p. 45]
"You have learned the position of the Jews who plotted the killing of Muslims, their plunder and extermination? This is the character of the traitors at all times and all places and the forgiveness and the flexibility [towards them] acts to encourage their crimes and evil deeds. If this shows anything, it shows the aggressive and evil disposition rooted in the Jewish personality. It stresses that living with them or near them is a grave danger which threatens Arab Islamic existence with destruction and extermination."
[Islamic Education for grade 10 p. 115]
"?The association of racism and the [Jewish] religion exposes reactionary thinking...The dangerous racist tendency already appeared in the words of the leaders of the Zionist Movement. Herzel called to gather together the Palestinian Arab Nation and collectively exterminate them."'
[Nationalist (Pan-Arab) Socialist Education for Grade 10, p. 95]
"One must beware of the Jews, for they are treacherous and disloyal."
["Islamic Education for Ninth Grade" p. 79]
"Treachery and disloyalty are character traits of the Jews and therefore one should beware of them."
[Islamic Education for Ninth Grade p. 87]
"I learn from this lesson: I believe that the Jews are the enemies of the Prophets and the believers.
[Islamic Education, Part Two for Fourth Grade p. 67]
"The aggressive expansionist spirit of this movement is still a danger to Arab national security and we must unify our efforts to stop this aggressive movement."
[Teacher's Guide, The Contemporary History of the Arabs and the World, P. 152]
"The Jews ? have killed and evicted Muslim and Christian inhabitants of Palestine, whose inhabitants are still suffering oppression and persecution under racist Jewish administration."
[Islamic Education for Ninth Grade p. 182]
2. Zionism is a Form of Nazism, Fascism and Racism
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"From a speech of Hafez Al-Assad"
"The Danger of the Zionist Movement'The Zionist Jews do not stop attacking Nazism and exploiting its actions in order to justify their actions. However, where is the difference between the essence of Nazism and the essence of Zionism?
The Nazism claimed racist superiority and the Zionists claim that they are the Chosen Nation of God to which all of the nations of the world must be subservient.
The Nazis explained their conquering the countries of others and their subjugation as their need for living space. The Zionists conquer the lands of others under the cover of guaranteeing security space for the state they established through oppression and aggression on the lands of others.
The Nazis persecuted and expelled the other nations and the Zionists do the same thing today with the Arabs, and tomorrow with the other Islamic Nations and so on, if an end won't be put to their crimes and to their violations of treaties, customs and international laws.''
[Nationalist (Pan-Arab) Socialist Education for Grade 10, p. 93]
"Zionism is a racist movement.
Their attitudes towards the Palestinian Arabs in particular were more racist than the attitudes of the Americans towards the Indians or the Rhodesians towards the Africans... The chauvinistic inclination and the militant aggressive inclination are inseparable. They were at the heart of the Nazi Movement in the 1930s. People usually forget that this inclination was preceded by the Zionist thinking - it preceded the Nazis in time and was clearer than it."
[Nationalist (Pan-Arab) Socialist Education for Grade 10, p. 99]
"Racism: Mankind has suffered from this evil both in ancient as well a`s in modern times, for, indeed, Satan has, in the eyes of many people, made their evil actions appear beautiful... Such a people are the Jews?"
[ Islamic Education for Eighth Grade p. 95]
2. [The student] should learn the following generalizations:
Zionism is a racist and aggressive movement
Racist superiority is the essence of Zionism and Fascism - Nazism
[The student] should make the connection between Zionism and racist discrimination
[The student] should trace the connection between Zionism and the contemporary world terrorist movements
[The student] should compare the principals of Fascism and Nazism with those of Zionism."
[Teacher's Guide, The Contemporary History of the Arabs and the World, P. 12-13]
"2. [The student] should understanding the racist and aggressive character of the Zionist Movement.
6. [The student] should understand the similarity between Nazism, Fascism and Zionism."
[The Contemporary History of the Arabs and the World, P. 92]
"The clearest examples of racist belief and racial discrimination in the world are Nazism and Zionism."
[The Contemporary History of the Arabs and the World, P. 123]
3. Zionist Racism Stems from the Racism of the Jewish Belief
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Zionist racism is based on two foundations: The first foundation - religious? The comrade, the commander, the fighter, Hafez Al-Assad, explained their racism in his words: 'They testify on themselves that they are racists, just by saying that you are the chosen people from among the nations-- this is racism.'"
[Nationalist (Pan-Arab) Socialist Education for Grade 10, p. 94]
"It is mentioned in the Talmud: "We [the Jews] are God's people on earth?[God] forced upon the human animal and upon all the nations and the races that they serve us, and He spread us through the world to ride on them and hold their reigns. We must marry our beautiful daughters with kings, ministers and lords and enter our sons into the various religions, thus, we will have the final word in managing the countries. We should cheat them [the non-Jews] and arouse quarrels among them, then they fight each other? Non Jews are pigs who God created in the shape of man in order that they be fit for service for the Jews, and God created the world for them [the Jews]."
[The Contemporary History of the Arabs and the World, P. 120]
4. Anti-Semitism, Persecutions, and Even Persecutions of the Nazis, were a Reaction to the Nature and Behavior of the Jews
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Nazism persecuted, throughout the second world war, millions of people in Europe and other places. Some of these persecutions hurt the Jews, for the following reasons:a. Their non-integration with the nations and societies in which they lived.b. Their control and monopoly of the means of trade and commercial funding.c. Their treason against their homeland Germany when they placed themselves at the service of the allies.''
[Nationalist (Pan-Arab) Socialist Education for Grade 10, p. 104]
"There are a number of reasons that caused the Europeans to persecute the Jews, everywhere they were:
The Bible is full of texts that support the Jews' tendency to racial and religious zealotry, and they respond with the spirit of hatred toward the other nations? The Jews of Europe were hated because of their hostile Jewish belief towards Christianity, and their seclusion, they did not join the western societies and continued to view them with suspicion. Another reason for the hatred towards them was their taking over the economy?
The Jews' feeling of racial, religious, cultural and political superiority and their contact with the nations of the world from this perspective, was the important impetus for the nations' persecution towards them. The profiteering and money-changing trades in which they specialized had an influence on the hatred of the nations of the world towards them."
[The Contemporary History of the Arabs and the World, P. 121-122]
5. The Jews Profited from the World War II
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Zionism succeeded in exploiting the circumstances of World War II for its benefit by means of:
2. Exploiting the Nazi Persecution
[Nationalist (Pan-Arab) Socialist Education for Grade 10, p. 104]
"?The persecution became desirable for the Jews for two reasons:
a. Its exploitation for the purpose of gaining material and moral profit.
The encouragement of Jewish emigration from the world to Palestine, in other words: the persecution became a means by which "Zionize" world Jewry [make them Zionist]."
[The Con temporary History of the Arabs and the World, P. 122]
"Persecution of Jews was desirable and advantageous for the Zionist movement and still is. Explain. Base your answer on historical facts and evidence."
[Teacher's Guide, The Contemporary History of the Arabs and the World, P. 155]
6. Classic Anti-Semitism: The Jews control world finance
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"b. Their control and monopoly of the means of trade and commercial funding."
[Nationalist (Pan-Arab) Socialist Education for Grade 10, p. 104]
"Another reason for the hatred towards them was their taking over the economy?"
[The Contemporary History of the Arabs and the World, P. 121-122]
7. Classic Anti-Semitism: The Jewish character and the nature of Judaism brought about the Jew's isolation in the world
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Zionist Movement
Exploiting the Jewish Feeling of Persecution
``The Zionist Movement acted to use the Jewish Religion as a cause to gather together the Jews in the world...in order to free [themselves] from their state of isolation in the societies in which they lived, as a result of their raising themselves above others in these societies...''
[Nationalist (Pan-Arab) Socialist Education for Grade 10, pp. 89-90]
"? Jews, who were dispersed all over Europe by the Romans, remained within themselves in their values which were included in their first book [the Bible]. Soon this was accompanied by the Racist seclusion that the Talmud called for, with behavior that aimed to corrupt and destroy the society's in which they lived."
[The Contemporary History of the Arabs and the World, P. 121-122]
8. Denial of Jewish History and the Existence of the Jewish Nation
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An important principle in the educational systems is the denial of the existence of the Jewish Nation. Judaism is defined only as a religion in order to deny the Jews the right to their national homeland. Thousands of years of Israeli-Jewish History and tradition and years of yearning to return to Israel are erased. When the textbooks discuss religious, historical, archaeological sites, Muslim and Christian sites are included, but all Jewish connection is erased. Even the vestige of the Jewish Holy Temple, the Western Wall, is denied any connection to Judaism.
"?Their claim that they are the descendants of the Hebrews who migrated to Palestine more than 2,000 years ago, this claim:
Scientifically is false. The anthropologists negate it. There is no pure-blooded nation, as all the nations mixed with one another... Science proves that there is no difference between one nation and another.
And historically false, as groups of other nations accepted Judaism upon themselves without their having been in Palestine or being descendants of the Hebrews. Among them is the nation of the Kuzari Kingdom... today they constitute 90% of the Jews of the world.''
[Nationalist (Pan-Arab) Socialist Education for Grade 10, p. 94]
"The Zionist Movement
3. Exploiting the Nationalistic Inclination:
The 19th century is considered the Era of Nationalism in Europe...The Zionist Movement exploited this inclination in order to exploit the Jews... and to turn their religious feelings into nationalistic feelings, and to convince the Jews of the world that they constitute a nation which has one goal and one destiny. It is clear that the Zionist claim for the existence of a Jewish Nation with an independent nationalism is a false claim, which the facts of science and reality do not support. The Jews are members of the societies they live in, and they belong to them nationalistically, linguistically, culturally and historically.''
[Nationalist (Pan-Arab) Socialist Education for Grade 10, p. 90]
"[The Jews] deluded themselves that their religious faith was sufficient to turn them into one nation."
[Modern Arab History and Contemporary Problems, part 2, for 10th Grade p. 49]
"The Zionists turn[ed] their attention towards Palestine as the national homeland of the Jews, relying on false historical and religious claims."
[Ibid p. 50]
"The Jews claim that this is one of the places belonging to them and call it "The Western Wall", but this is not so."
[Reader and Literary Texts for Eighth Grade #578 p. 103]>
"Jerusalem: I have many Islamic holy places and antiquities. This is al-Aqsa Mosque and this is the Dome of the Rock...To the west of the holy mosque you can see a vast stone wall called 'al-Buraq Wall', [Western Wall of the Temple -ed] to which the angel Gabriel, peace be upon him, tied the beast of the Prophet Muhammad on the night of his journey [to heaven -ed]..."
"As for my Christian holy places - the most famous of them are 'The Church of al-Qiama' [Holy Sepulchre-ed], next to the mosque of 'Umar Ibn al-Khattab, and the church of 'al-Juthmana' opposite al-Isbat Gate, outside the wall."
[Palestinian National Education for Third Grade P. 14]
"The importance of Palestine is that Allah has chosen it to be the centre of religions. It is the place where Jesus the son of Mary, was born and it is the place to which Muhammad was made to journey? Thousands of Christians come to Palestine in order to perform their religious duties ?""Tourists from all over the world come to Palestine to visit its holy religious places... Muslims come to visit the first Qibla [direction of prayer] ?. Christians come to visit Bethlehem...."
[Palestinian National Education for Fourth Grade , p.5, p23]
9. The Jews Are the Enemies of Allah and Islam
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Although this research doesn't examine the traditional Islamic sources, it is appropriate to point out that while there are positive references to Jews in Islam, none of these is utilized in the textbooks. It would seem, therefore, that the problem is not Islam, but rather the editing which is trying to turn Islam into an anti-Semitic ideology by means of prominent display of negative texts and complete disregard of positive ones.
The children are taught that Islam sees the Jews as possessing negative traits, and educates them to see the Jews as enemies of Islam and enemies of Allah, and deserving of punishment.
"The Punishment for Treason
"You have learned the position of the Jews who planed the killing of Muslims, their plunder and extermination?"
[Islamic educaton for grade 10, p.15]
"1. The Jews spare no effort to cause us to err, to be hostile to us or to deny our honored messenger (Muhammad), gathering against us and distorting the holy books.
4. The Jews cooperate with idolotors and the heretics against Muslims, because they see that Islam reveals their deceitful paths and evil nature.
5. Among the reasons for the hostility of the Jews to the Arabs is that Allah sent Muhammad as the last prophet and he was an Arab. They believed that prophecy was uniquly theirs, accordingly they burst out, because of their racism, saying that they are the chosen of humanity, those close to Allah.
[Islamic education for grade 11, p. 33]
"The Punishments of the Aggressors:
Concerning these deceptive, treasonous Jews, they received the recompense for their treason and their scheming against their allies the Muslims: Allah (gave) the Muslims their land, houses and property...''
[Islamic Education for grade 10, p. 115]
"The Jews adopted a position of hostility and deception towards the new religion. They called Muhammad a liar and denied him, they fought against his religion in all ways and by all means, a war that has not yet ended until to day, and they conspired with the hypocrites and the idolaters against him and they are still behaving in the same way?"
[Islamic Education for Seventh Grade p. 125]
"In many cases these Jews acted according to their known cunning and deceit, and they incite wars [between Arab tribes]?"
[Islamic Education for Ninth Grade p. 78]
"[The student should] connect between the greedy aspirations of the Jews in Muslim countries and their hatred towards the Islamic faith."
[P. 179]
"Write in your exercise book: ...
An event showing the fanaticism of the Jews in Palestine against Muslims or Christians.
[Islamic Education for Ninth Grade # 589 p. 181-182]
10. The Jewish Nation in Israel is an expression of colonialism
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After having determined that the Jews are not a nation, their nationalist movement-Zionism-- is presented as being in essence European Colonialism. Colonialism is the external cause that promoted the idea of Zionism, with the goal of exploiting the Arabic Homeland.
"The Zionist Movement: After the appearance of colonialism and the rule of European States over many of the undeveloped countries, some of the thinkers from among the wealthy Jews tried, together with the colonialist states, to establish an entity that would unite the world Jewry and establish colonies for them. They decided to turn the land of Palestine into a colony so it could serve as a starting point from which they could control the Arab Homeland, steal its treasures and turn it into a place for investment of their money. In order to accomplish this a movement was established called - the Zionist Movement.'
'[Nationalist (Pan-Arab) Socialist Education for Grade 10, p. 89]
"The colonial powers regarded the Zionist Movement as the means for the attainment of their greedy colonial aspirations and saw Palestine as the base for the setting up of a Jewish state, thus tearing the Arab Homeland asunder and imposing their rule on it in order to exploit its natural resources. The European colonial powers spread the idea of Zionism among the Jews in order to hasten the establishment of a state in Palestine."
[Modern Arab History and Contemporary Problems, Part Two, for Tenth Grade #613 P. 48]
11. The Expulsion of the Jews from "Palestine" is Inevitable
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The danger that the Jews present for the Arab World leads to the conclusion that not only security but also justice will be achieved through eradicating the State of Israel. Moreover, the books teach that expelling the Jews from ``Palestine'' is part of an unavoidable historical process, and the students should desire to be participants.
"If this shows anything, it shows the aggressive and evil disposition rooted in the Jewish personality. It stresses that living with them or near them is a grave danger which threatens Arab Islamic existence with destruction and extermination. Therefore the logic of true justice obligates one verdict on them from which there is no escape - that their criminal intentions be turned against them with their exterminaton."
[Islamic Education for grade 10 p. 115-116]
"The Zionists...imagine that their state will continue to exist...Our fathers turned the invaders into [historical] data, and we will turn the today's invaders into a lesson for whoever is after them, in order that history should record in our blood what it recorded in the pure blood of our fathers: The land of the Arabs is a cemetery for the invaders." [emphasis in original]
[Rules of Grammar and Writing, for grade 8, p. 72]
"Why must we fight the Jews and drive them out of our land?"
[Our Arabic Language 5th Grade pp. 64-66]
"Remember: The final and inevitable result will be the victory of the Muslims over the Jews."
[Our Arabic Language for Fifth Grade p. 67]
"The Arab hearts are devoted to Palestine and await the day they will be able to liberate it and expel the thieving aggressor and to return to Jerusalem."
[Teacher's Guide, Our Arabic Language grade 2 p. 188]
"? if the enemy has conquered part of its land and those fighting for it are unable to repel the enemy, then Jihad becomes the individual religious duty of every Muslim man and woman, until the attack is successfully repulsed and the land liberated from conquest..."

"[The Student should] be certain that Jihad is the way to free Palestine from conquest."
