I think it's appropriate to relay this recent experience I had with Brother and their printers, as IMO it's important to point out when companies do more than is strictly necessary to help their customers.

I bought a colour laser all-in-one printer for a customer in 2015. To date it's done approximately 18k pages, which isn't generally considered to be tonnes of work for such a printer. It recently developed a problem whereby the paper was getting a little mangled down one side of every printed sheet, and while I don't consider myself to be particularly experienced with troubleshooting laser printer issues, I checked every place I could think of checking (e.g. rollers for damage or bits of torn paper, or anything looking damaged or out of place), I couldn't see anything wrong. I contacted Brother and they advised me to take a look at the fuser unit and pressure roller, and sent me a picture of how it should look.

I noticed a brown stripe on the fuser roller the same shade as the pressure roller, and when I shone a torch on it, and particularly the edges of the stripe suggested that it shouldn't be there, so an engineer's visit was arranged and they fixed the issue for free, despite the fact that the printer was out of warranty.
