Not sure what the point of wireless charging in a tablet is...
It makes sense for a phone. A tablet? Not so much.

Why does it make sense for one but not the other? Both are mobile devices that you would want to simply plop down on a wireless charger rather than have to plug it in.

Why Snapdragon S4 Pro instead of s600 or s800?

Seems to me like an obvious compromise of cost and performance. And you can reasonably assume this has been under development before S600's widespread adoption. S4 Pro is now a proven platform and seemingly plentiful.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the S4 Pro. S600 or S800 may be for Nexus 10 V2 depending on who makes it. (though in all likelihood N10 V2 may sport some sort of a quad A15s)

What's the GPU? My concern is whether the S4Pro and GPU can handle that resolution.

Isn't the S600 the replacement for the S4 Pro though. I wouldn't think there would be much of a cost difference.

The S4 Pro in my Nexus 4 gets hot as hell.

Yep not an issue and I had both devices.

The AT reviews of the Nexus 4 did note that it throttles under benchmark conditions, causing it to lose a few frames in the tests. Not something that'll be noticeable in every day use.

Should be the Adreno 320, which handles 1080p just fine.

Well, we have 3 devices running on S600 so far - S4, One, Optimus G Pro. They're all $600+. I think many expect the Nexus 7 V2 to be below $300, at most.

S600 may be even hotter. ;)

Don't get me wrong I wouldn't say no to S600 or Exynos Octa on the next Nexus 7. I just think that's unrealistic and will discourage OEMs even further. Many (myself included) want something better than the Nexus 7, and so far the OEMs haven't been successful because in part of the N7 being the benchmark.

Ooh, WUXGA. Everything deserves WUXGA.

Incidentally, WUXGA is fun to pronounce as a word.

I hope Android tablets to keep at least 16:10 ratio. (see Surface and 16:9) It would be disappointing if the next N10 is something less than 2560x1600.

Hope there are no throttling issues with a larger footprint. Throttling is an issue on the N4 and N10 right now.

what does this mean, what is throttling on a tablet/phone and what does it have to do with a larger footprint?

no plans for Google to make a 7 inch phablet?
i think one day all of their devices are capable of phone/data and you just pick the size you want, 4/7/10 inches

Can't really compare Nexus prices to other flagship devices though. We usually get a lot more value for less money on the Nexus products. And wasn't the Tegra 3 one of the top processors when the Nexus 7 came out? I remember how people thought the rumors of a 7 inch tablet with a quad core Tegra 3 for only $200 were hard to believe before it came out.

It would be worth it alone for the Qi charging, I have multiple Qi pads around the house for my 4, but my 7 is always dead because I don't use it often enough and never plug it in. If I could keep it on a Qi pad it would never die and I'd actually be able to use it when I want to.

Which is most likely a software issue as the Optimus G doesn't have those same throttling up issues. Hopefully they fix it in the next version of Android.

The Nexus 7 definitely needs more power though. I really enjoy the size of it as its easy to handle but my phone is MUCH faster than it so sometimes I'd rather surf on my phone.

Please have a better speaker, the speaker on the N7 sucks bad.

no way a 7inch with that high of a res?

If B&N can do a 7 inch 1440x900 resolution in 2012, I think Google and their partner could do 1920x1200 on a 7 inch in 2013.

I just REALLY hope they pay more attention to the quality. The colors on the Nexus 7 looked too washed out, yellow and greens particularly.

1920x1200 is too high for 7 inch?

Eh, you do realize we got 1080p down on a 4.7 inch screen right?

Its big for gamers and while I don't game much I think it could bug other users. If you look at the Franco kernel thread there's quite a few discussions regarding gaming fps and what not. Same with the nexus 10 and throttling
