An Amazing Experience With Lexus

I drove my mom to the dealership to test drive the new ES. After the test drive I was able to get the salesman to go $500 under invoice without much effort. $500 under invoice is pretty good according to all the sources that I checked, but I still didn't budge. At this point, he brought in the fleet manager who promptly offered my mom free gas for the next 1000 miles. It sounded like a good deal but I didn't think my mom would use the service. I was able to convince him to go $700 under invoice. We agreed on the price and told him that we would be back next month because my mom still has 1 month left on her lease with Lincoln. To make the story short, he offered to buy out the last month of her lease at $556. I thought that was the end of it considering it was such a killer deal. We were able to get the car for $700 under invoice, free gas for the next 1000 miles and they bought out the remainder of her lease for $556, but there's more. My mom just called and told me that the dealership sent a fruit basket to her office along with a certificate for a weekend of golf and spa for 2 at a spa in Ojai. Wow!

Correct me if I'm wrong but free gas for 1,000 miles isn't a whole lot, or is it?

Isn't that like 4-5 fill ups? Maybe valued at $150?

Free gas for 1 year or free scheduled maintenance for 3 years would have been what I'd shoot for :p

Congrats though, nice car.

awesome. I had an amazing experience with Buick. My mom got tired of driving her '91 Buick Century so she gave it to me. Wow!

see that's how you get customers and kickass in business. the bit about buying out her lease was a nice piece of salesmanship, because who knows what can happen in a month to make her change her mind. i'm sure the dealership is still making a profit on the vehicle, plus you and she will tell everyone you know how cool they were.

sounds like a smart dealership...even if they lose a couple hundred bucks in profit...the long term customer and referrals they'll get will rake it in.

Lexus is known for their Customer Service.
They bend over backwards to please you.

Looks like you scored an awesome deal. Seeing you're from cali ... I heard the gas prices out there are through the roof.

I wish I got that type of treatment from my dealership when I bought my car.

I believe you get 2 scheduled maintainance free as well.

Damn.

I thought that "Lexus" was the name of some drug-addicted 22-year-old stripper you met this past weekend.

She really needed the money and touched you in places you didn't even know you had. Those are always good stories to hear.

You just drove a car.

Bah.

You get a ZERO.

;) j/k

I got my mercedes for $800 under invoice, plus they paid for automatic tranny, half of leather package and half of metalic paint. Total $2800 under invoice. This had a lot to do with end of the model year plus factory rebates going on.

Research carefully, as sometimes the dealer won't mention any factory incentives. For example, they could be getting $3000 back from lexus and only passing $2000 of that to you. In my book, car dealers are somewhere down there, alongside lawyers and telemarketers.

ok, a lexus ES series is just a rebadged camry marked up $7000. you can't tell me there is $7000 worth of improvements between the two. I can gaurantee that the dealer is still making $5000 profit on the deal.

You may think they are going under what they paid on the car, but they aren't. Why would they sell it in hopes of you telling someone about your awesome deal, cause they will come in wanting the same deal, and it becomes a neverending cycle.

Um... Everything from the interior to the exterior is different. The level of service you get is different.
Please don't talk about it being a rebadge. It's much more than that.

Man...Lexus is awesome like that...there's a reason they are known for their excellence in customer satisfaction. And that's a reason why people would buy a ES300 over a Camry! (I had a ride in a 2002 ES300 and quite frankly...it wasn't anything special over the Camry in terms of ride quality....but the dealer experience makes it worth it).

I'm trying to convince my dad to sell the Maxima get himeself a pre-owned GS300 or LS400...he wants a Lexus too...but pre-owned for the dealers are fairly expensive.

I've never ever heard a bad thing about Lexus's customer service (apart from their prices of course...but I guess you pay for it).
