An abacus in your pocket - The HP-35 Calculator ...

The HP35/45 were worth their weight in gold when I went through college.

The low-lifes used the TIs.😛

When I was in college taking my engineering courses, it was the engineering students that used TIs and real engineers that used HPs 😀

I have my HP35 stored away in its hard case. Perhaps someday it will have enough collector value for me to sell it. I bought it used in 1973 for $175, then had to figure out RPN, it is not that hard and once learned you will never want to run a TI again. Relatively early on I managed to leave the end of the recharger cord hanging out of my car door. I don't recall how far I drove with it dragging on the pavement but it was severely damaged. I remolded it with epoxy and it remains that way to this day. I would like to find a replacement for it.

Since then I have had a HP25 (my favorite), HP33, HP34, and finally a HP28c. I wish I would have picked up a HP41c along the way, In my mind it remains a pinnacle of calculator technology.
